Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy

Adventure Guides Australia and Mount Buffalo Ski School Terms and Conditions of participation and cancellation policy for all snow activities and adventures.

Normally included in the activities
All group safety equipment, staff and resources for the activity are included in the program unless otherwise arranged. Snowshoes are provided for snowshoe tours

Not included unless otherwise specified
Cross Country Skis, boots and poles, personal items, cold/ wet weather gear, food or water

Parks Victoria (or other land managers) land use fees
These fees are included in the quote unless specified otherwise.

GST
Included in the prices shown

Confirmation
Bookings can be confirmed via website payment. Confirming E-Mails will be sent.

General Cancellations
Percentages of the fee are to be retained if cancellations occur at the following rate:
20 to 30 days – 25% of the total fee
14 to 19 days – 50% of the total fee
Less than 14 days – Full payment required
Mount Buffalo Ski School reserves the right to re-schedule any activity if conditions are unsafe or to provide an alternative activity or program. Participants may NOT cancel or change their activity dates or content without approval.

COVID CANCELLATIONS
Where COVID restrictions preclude the participant from traveling to Mount Buffalo or participating in the Ski School activities a full refund will be provided.

Weather
We conduct activities in most weather conditions, but not severe weather.

Acceptance of Risk
Participants are to be aware that outdoor activities have an element of risk and that participation is at the customer's own risk. AGA takes no responsibility for any accident, injury, or loss of property, etc. that might result during or as a result of the conduct of the arranged activities.
Some activities must be completed once commenced as the safest option. An assumption of risk form will be required to be completed by each participant prior to the activity.

Group Activity Agreements
Receipt of a booking for a private or group activity is deemed to be an agreement to participate in the program as per our organizations and field leader’s requirements and these conditions of participation. Signed formal activity agreements will be required of groups, schools, etc.

COVID Safe Practice

Upon attendance, please adhere to the current COVID safe guidelines as per the DHHS website below: Department of Health and Human Services Victoria | Coronavirus (COVID-19) (dhhs.vic.gov.au)

Participants should not attend the activity if they have had any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 7 days. Such as a new continuous cough, fever, change/loss of taste/smell.

PRIVACY POLICY

Collection
ADVENTURE GUIDES AUSTRALIA and MOUNT BUFFALO SKI SCHOOL will only collect personal information that is necessary for it to manage risk and to perform its functions and activities. Examples of when we may collect personal information include to:
-enable you to use or access a service provided by AGA / MBSS
-resolve any queries you may have,
-make a payment for an activity or service by credit card,
-enable you to participate in an activity or consultation facilitated by AGA / MBSS.
-PLI Insurance record keeping requirements

In most cases, AGA / MBSS will collect personal information directly from you. That could occur when you deal with us over the telephone, send us correspondence (by letter or e-mail), or by direct entry into our systems via an internet service. The information may include your name, home or work address and telephone number, emergency contact details, and e-mail address. In some situations, it may also include sensitive or health information such as membership of a professional or trade association or disability needs so that we can manage risks safely.

Use and Disclosure
The primary purpose of collecting personal information is to enable AGA / MBSS to carry out its business functions and activities. Personal information will be used for that purpose, and in other cases where consent has been given.

Your personal information may be disclosed to or stored by, our contractors (third-party service providers) where necessary for them to safely perform their functions and activities. Those contractors are required to be bound by the information privacy principles in the same way and to the same extent as we are bound.

We may otherwise use or disclose your personal information where required or authorised by law, which may include emergency situations and assisting law enforcement agencies in rescues etc.

We may also use your personal information to provide you with information about other services or activities offered or available through our business operations.

Subscriptions and electronic direct mail may be supported by third-party vendors. We only share details with these vendors to assist with managing delivery, technical issues and the prevention of fraud or security issues. Your information will be stored on secure databases which reside in Australia and the USA. If you do not want your personal information being stored offshore, please do not submit personal information to us or ‘opt-out’ of these services.

Protection of personal information
Where necessary, we will securely retain information as part of its obligations under various laws or insurance obligations. We will take reasonable steps to:
protect the personal information it holds from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure; and destroy or permanently de-identify personal information if it is no longer needed for any purpose.
